If you’re here, chances are you’ve been carrying a lot for a long time—and you’re ready for support that understands not just what you’re feeling, but the level you’ve been functioning at.

I’m Rachel Lorenzo-Ramirez, founder of Amethyst Counseling Services. I provide virtual therapy for women in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts navigating anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and major life transitions.

Many of the women I work with are used to being the capable one the one others rely on even when they feel mentally overloaded and exhausted internally.

Clients often share things like, “I feel overwhelmed all the time,” “I can’t shut my brain off,” or “I should be able to handle this.” If that resonates, this work is designed to help you move beyond just managing and into understanding and changing what’s driving these patterns.

My approach is structured, direct, and insight-oriented grounded in a way that feels steady and supportive. We don’t just talk about what’s happening, we identify the patterns underneath it and actively work to change them.

The goal is not just insight, but measurable shifts in how you think, feel, and respond.

I integrate EMDR therapy, CBT-informed strategies, and advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) to address anxiety, trauma responses, and the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

Rather than staying at the surface, this work is designed to help you gain clarity, process what’s underneath, and develop a more steady and sustainable way of moving through your life.

My background includes work in inpatient mental health, higher education, and community counseling settings, which informs the trauma-informed, depth-oriented approach I bring to my work.

At the core of my practice is a deep respect for how much you’ve been carrying—often quietly and without enough support.

Therapy here is a space to slow down, gain clarity, and move forward in a way that feels more grounded, intentional, and aligned with the life you’re building.
